Data Gifting

1. The Feature 1.1 Data Gifting allows eligible Slice Mobile customers (“Senders”) to transfer a portion of their monthly UK data allowance to other eligible Slice Mobile customers (“Recipients”). 1.2 Data Gifting is provided by Slice Mobile UK Limited. 1.3 Slice Mobile is trialling this feature. As such, Data Gifting may be amended, suspended, or withdrawn at any time. Reasonable notice will be provided where possible.
2. Eligibility 2.1 Data Gifting is available only to customers on paid Slice Mobile plans (Mini, Middy, Biggie and Bigger Biggie). 2.2 Free Trial users cannot gift or receive data. 2.3 A Recipient must have an active, paid Slice Mobile subscription at the time the data is gifted. 2.4 Only UK data can be gifted. EU or International roaming data is excluded. 2.5 Customers must have a valid, active Slice Mobile account, app access, and the latest version of the Slice Mobile app installed to participate.
3. Gifting Limits 3.1 Customers may gift up to 10GB per subscription cycle. 3.2 Data can only be gifted in 1GB, 3GB, 5GB & 10GB increments. 3.3 Gifting is subject to the Sender having sufficient remaining monthly plan data. 3.4 Customers can distribute their gifting allowance freely (e.g., 10GB to a single user or 1GB to 10 different users). 3.5 Slice Mobile may apply technical or fair-use restrictions if gifting behaviour appears excessive, fraudulent, or misaligned with the intended use of the feature.
4. Duration and Use of Gifted Data 4.1 Gifted data is added to the Recipient’s data balance immediately once the transfer is successfully processed. 4.2 Gifted data is valid for 30 calendar days from the time it is added. 4.3 If the Recipient’s subscription ends during this period, any unused gifted data is forfeited. 4.4 Upon re-subscribing, previously gifted data will not be reinstated. 4.5 Gifted data will be consumed after the Recipient’s standard plan data, unless otherwise displayed in the Slice app. 4.6 If a UK data add-on has already been applied to the Recipient’s account, the add-on will be used before any gifted data. However, if a UK data add-on is added after the gifted data has been received, the gifted data will be consumed first.
5. Gifting Process 5.1 To send data, the Sender must enter the Recipient’s Slice Mobile phone number within the Slice app. 5.2 The system will validate that the number belongs to an eligible Slice Mobile customer. 5.3 Once confirmed, the Sender’s data balance will be debited and the Recipient’s account credited in real time. 5.4 Transfers cannot be reversed once completed. 5.5 Slice Mobile is not responsible for data sent to an incorrect number entered by the Sender.
6. Notifications & App Experience 6.1 Senders will receive confirmation within the app (and/or via push notification) once a transfer succeeds. 6.2 Recipients will be notified via push notification and/or email, including the Sender’s first name. 6.3 The Slice app will display:
- The Sender’s remaining shareable allowance
- The Recipient’s gifted data balance
- The expiry date of any gifted data 6.4 Phone numbers to whom data has been previously gifted may be cached within the app for convenience. 6.5 Slice Mobile may modify the notification or UI experience at any time without prior notice.
7. Logging & Monitoring 7.1 All data gifting transactions will be logged for operational, customer support, and fraud-prevention purposes. 7.2 Slice Mobile may review gifting activity to ensure compliance with these Terms. 7.3 Customer Support may access transaction history to resolve queries.
8. Limitations of Liability 8.1 Slice Mobile accepts no liability for:
- Delays or failure in data transfers caused by technical issues outside our reasonable control;
- Incorrect phone numbers entered by the Sender;
- Loss of gifted data arising from a Recipient’s subscription ending or expiring. 8.2 Nothing in these Terms limits any legal rights you may have as a consumer.
9. Suspension, Amendment and Withdrawal 9.1 Data Gifting is currently offered as a trial feature. Slice Mobile may amend, pause, or discontinue the feature at any time. 9.2 Where reasonably possible, Slice Mobile will provide advance notice to customers before materially changing or suspending the feature. 9.3 Continued use of the feature following any updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
